Going Green
The greening of the T Show receives major attention annually and a lot of focus is placed on environmental awareness. More than 8 tons of animal waste and bedding is removed during the Show and is used for compost, which again is given back to the community.
Besides the waste being taken to landfill sites, jobs are created for the local community, with many people helping to collect recyclable waste. Since 2003 hundreds of indigenous trees have been planted on the grounds to ensure a more economic approach to water usage and most of the halls have been refitted with energy saving light bulbs.
