Percheron

The Percheron is a breed of draft horses that originated in the Perche valley in northern France. These horses are noted for their equable temperament, intelligence, ease of handling and willingness to work and please. Percherons were imported to South Africa during the latter part of the 19th century and they played a major role in the feeding of the South African nation during the late 19th and early 20th century. They are described as proud and alert, and intelligent, willing workers.
